We have arranged the order to emphasize that most are single sounds followed by double sounds. For example, a is a single sound but â is a double sound. Likewise, p is single sound but pp is double sound. The sound ng is a single sound and we have written the double sound as nng. The single K sound is followed in the alphabet order by the double version kK.

Some letters at the beginning of words are only found in loanwords that come from other languages. These are f, j, and w. You will see there are only a few words that start with these letters.

The rest of the letters occur in the middle of the words. When you are looking for a word that has ll in the middle of the word you will have to search after the l section of the words is over.
